My sister was supposed to go to a dance tonight at Veterans Memorial Middle School for all 8th graders. The issue with this is she has Down Syndrome. We asked for several weeks if there would be an escort there for her and could not get any answer from them. We then asked if her brother could escort her to the dance and they agreed that he could escort her. My sister has done nothing but talk about this dance for weeks. Today they called us up and said my brother could not attend and that they would have someone there who is getting paid to escort her. This is the night of the dance and nothing was said up to this point. Another problem with this is that this escort will not show up until after the dance has started. This is clearly a lack of not caring for our special needs children and Brick Township should be ashamed of themselves. My sister will now be upset because she can not attend this 8th grade dance. She had a new outfit that she was going to wear at the dance which is now useless. I think this is just a travesty and shows the lack of care for our special needs children.

#300 - Blitzwing!
So this weekend, my 300th Transformer arrived in the mail. Woot! A beautiful figure - three modes: tan tank to purple plane to robot. The all-powerful Blitzwing! (Well, he's not really all-powerful, he's just cool, and it adds dramatic effect. I like dramatic effect.)
Not much to say about this figure, other than he's just plane awesome (get it?). His turret is removable, and isn't as fragile as I'd heard or feared. Both of his alternate modes are accurately proportioned, with only his robot mode being a little funky, as is the case with many G1 Transformers. For a jet that just transformed from a tank, its not too shabby looking. For the most part its streamlined, the only thing looking a bit weird is the wings, seeing as they would probably never be able to fly (probably).
I love the die-cast in this figure, and I pretty much got the figure MLC, the only things wrong being some sticker wear, an extremely small bit of strain on the wing tips, and the fact that he didn't come with missiles. All very small factors in my eyes, especially the missiles, considering I'm not really fond of firing projectiles. Although in the future, I'll have to buy them because I'm a completionist. But still. I'll probably wait until I have evry other G1 figure before I get those missiles. Whatever. I give this figure a 10 out of 10 for pulling off both alt. modes so well and still having a great looking robot mode, despite the lack of articulation. Well done, Takara.

G1 Tidalwave! WIP
So I've been toying with this idea for a while, but I recently acquired a KO Onslaught and figured I'd give it a go. Obviously, I'm trying to convert Onslught (a flatbed truck) to Tidal Wave (an aircraft carrier) so, while they have their similarities, there's still some extra work to be done.
Still, I present to you, Work-In-Progress Nauticon Tidal Wave!
I'm working on a sticker sheet now, as well as sculpting fins and what not to take the place of his wheels.
Once this is finished, I shall be working on repaints of Air Raid and Vortex and resculpts of First Aid (into a submarine) and Groove (into a jet ski) as the other "Nauticons."
